The objective of the Saint Leo the Great Athletic Association (SLGAA) is to organize and conduct adult-supervised sports programs for the Saint Leo the Great community. Our mission is to create an environment that allows our young student-athletes to learn and strengthen the ideals of courage, good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, responsibility, and respect for authority. We strive to enrich the lives of our student athletes as they grow into happy, healthy young Catholic men and women.
The SLGAA is responsible for the interscholastic programs of baseball, basketball, cheerleading, cross-country, soccer, softball, tennis, track and field, and volleyball. A Commissioner, who is also a member of the SLGAA Executive Board, oversees each athletic program. The SLGAA also oversees the Bill Grier basketball league, which is an extra-curricular program that is open to all members of the Saint Leo the Great parish in grades 1-8.
The SLGAA is responsible for coordinating the athletic programs, as well as maintaining and improving equipment, uniforms, facilities and fields. The SLGAA is able to operate through the generosity of the members of the Saint Leo the Great community who support the SLGAA by donating time and participating in our various fundraisers.
